Protag was a manga author who debuted at 18 and quickly became a renowned success, but let it get to his head, became a douche, and everybody left him, but he was fine with that because he was successful and right and everybody else was wrong. However after years of working he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and is only left with the regret that maybe his life was meaningless after all if he had nobody to share it with. While wallowing in his despair, his mom calls asking for yet more money to gamble away, which distracts him even more than he already is and closely avoids driving into a family only to end up killing himself by crashing into a wall. He is then presented with the option of “choosing his mother” for his next life (lmao). He doesn’t want a successful life, he doesn’t want anything to be easy, he just wants a mom to unconditionally love him and take care of him so he chooses whoever he thinks will do that and ignores everything else.

Protag is down bad with the mommy fetish. tfw no marriage with a groomer mommy elf gf. The work starts out relatively decent but quickly cascades into utter garbage with comical villains that do nothing, and characters that are written extremely poorly in general.

Biggest issue with this work is the random shounen exposition dumps that explain the state of the world in the worst way possible. Or maybe the school arc in general is even worse somehow.

Okay the work just gets worse as it goes overtime, the author has no idea how to actually write fights yet a majority of the work is epic fights. It becomes especially bad in the 80s-90s and i’m not sure I can read much more of this.

I don’t really want to recommend this to anybody since the start of the work being relatively promising only to whiplash into whatever the rest of the nonsense is feels too bad, and I don’t want anybody else to experience that.
