Description / Comments

Protagonist is average japanese girl who played an otomege and ended up reincarnating as the protagonist of that game, however she didn’t have any of the memories of the game until quite a ways later into her life as the protagonist. Her parents in the game were extremely greedy and wanted to use her for political purposes and raised her for the sole purpose of marrying a well off prince/etc (which to be fair, is normal noble shit in these times), However the moment she saw a character from the otomege she regained all of her memories, but she doesn’t want to marry the arrogant prince. Thus she sets out on a plot trying to get a specific bad end where she’s condemned to be a commoner, which to a modern person isn’t that bad of a punishment all things considered. She eventually manages to succeed and starts living her life out as a commoner, yet some of the characters from the game aren’t satisfied with her being relegated to a commoner and are trying to reintegrate her back into noble society, as they believe the accusations brought against her were false.

This work is all about Fate: If you get isekai’d into a game are you ever truly free from the setting/plot of the game and is there even such a thing as free will when events will do everything in their power to play out repeatedly? Is there meaning in the choices we make in our everyday lives if events continue to happen outside of our control regardless? Is it possible to remain happy when you see everybody else as mere game characters constantly being forced to enact out events you’ve already forseen? This works goes hard on all of those aspects and just powers through all of them with little time wasted on anything else. The protagonist then uses all of the brainpower she has, even if she’s not a supergenius or even that above average in intelligence all things considered, to try and break away from fate and make her dreams come true.

Shoutout to the cute twinbraid nun; I strongly resonate with the protagonist’s fervent love for her. Like half of this story is just the protag talking with a super cute twinbraid nun 10/10 manga of the year every year. Her undoing the braids in ch31 is horrible; I know what tsukai feels like when the heroine takes off the glasses fr. Also shoutout to bread. This manga was sponsored by Big Bread.

Because the work is fairly melodramatic about Changing Fate it’s like painfully shoujo through and thorugh and might be a little too much for some readers, however I feel like it being so straightforward to its plot is kind of endearing and I ended up enjoying it a fair bit. I feel like most people would at least moderately enjoy it. The only real downside is that the ending is kind of lackluster and a little too open-ended. There’s a sequel-spinoff thing from the villainess’ perspective as well, which kind of has spoilers for this work and shouldn’t be looked at until this has been read; Don’t know if I should leave that work off of this list or add it since I typically don’t add sequels…
