The Protagonist’s parents die at an early age, and only his grandfather is left alive before the protagonist is even in university. However shortly before the protagonist enters university his grandfather gives him some advice to make a family and cherish them, as if those were his dying words, and wouldn’t you know it he dies soon after the protagonist enters university. And if that wasn’t enough the protagonist then gets summoned to another world by a medieval kingdom that is facing threats from a demon lord, and the protagonist might be sold off to a larger empire if things play out poorly.

It’s decent. There’s quite a fair amount of military/king isekai stories out there that go deep into strategy and tactics, and this one more or less leans in that direction as well. The protagonist is not all-powerful, although he does have quite extensive knowledge about a wide array of topics that are Exactly what they need at the Exact right moment, to the point where it never really feels like the protag is ever in a pinch. It’s an oretueee without the oretueee. The protagonist also just relies on machiavelli’s “wisdom” constantly spouting his lines as his own as well which is kind of meme, pretty much every chapter namedrops him… While the art is fairly good, the backgrounds are still just empty white voids a large majority of the time.

The twinbraid date chapters early on in vol2 are kino. Roroa is peak kino, but it takes ages for her to appear in the story, and komain is even more erotic but takes longer to appear….

While I respect the artist’s decision to adapt the work slowly to match the pacing of the original lightnovel to leave nothing out, it also means this adaptation will take 40+ years before it finishes the content of the light novel at the current pace, and I highly doubt it will manage to stand the test of time for that long. And even on top of that there are events that the anime handles quite a fair bit better. As a result you’re probably best off reading the light novel if you’re really interested in the work, or perhaps just read machiavelli’s work instead considering that the protag constantly references that shit every other bubble. However this isn’t an outright offensively bad work and it is fine as a popcorn read where events kind of just happen so I can at least recommend it on a surface level.
