Description / Comments

The protagonist’s uncle was hit by a truck when he was 17, and after 17 years finally woke up from his coma; except he’s speaking gibberish and thinks he was sent to another world where he could use magic. After so many years of him being in a coma his family fell apart since nobody wanted to take care of him, and really the only one left is his nephew (the protagonist). However it turns out he did in fact get isekai’d, can in fact use magic, and he isn’t clinically insane. However he was a die-hard Sega Fanboy back before he isekai’d to the extent that the only thing keeping him sane in the hellhole he isekai’d to was coming back and enjoying the wonderful new products that sega came out with, only to be greeted with the unfortunate news that sega lost the console wars and is a shell of its former self. He now has to slowly figure out how to live in modern society while showing his nephew all about his trips in isekai-land by broadcasting his memories using magic.

This work is brilliant. The entire premise is that you have a group of people essentially doing a running commentary on an isekai life “playthrough” with one of the commentators being the actual person who experienced it, another one being extremely genre savvy, and the last one being a total novice, in order to round out the commentary for all possible readers so nobody will get lost at any point in the story. On top of that the story itself is insane and would be good enough of an isekai story in its own right even without this level of meta commentary on the genre as a whole. It even manages to merge in commentary about modern society, how life was so much better back when Sega made consoles and could’ve potentially won the console war, along with youtube trends, let’s plays, and all of the ups-and-downs of that lifestyle. It merges everything together perfectly while balancing telling a story across a consistent timeline in both the Isekai and Earth simultaneously, developing the character’s personalities as they learn more and more about each other after essentially meeting for the first time.

The art is also insanely high quality. All of the battles that are more than a single spell/punch being thrown have perfect panelling with really great effects. All of the backgrounds are perfectly drawn. All of the girls in the work are extremely cute. All of the characters are noticeably distinct enough that you can generally tell who someone is at a glance. You can clearly see how “ugly” ojisan is and why he might be mistaken for an Orc in the isekai land and hunted down repeatedly, and you can also occasionally tell why he’s not entirely ugly at times and can be quite handsome with the right angles/hairstyles/etc. The artist does a really good job of mixing very well-drawn art with very poorly-drawn art to emphasize every joke in the perfect way.

Also the author/artist clearly has a biting fetish, they draw all of the cute girls with massive fangs, and now I too have a biting fetish. Sawa (fujimiya’s friend) in particular is extremely hot in that regard. Hell there’s even a chapter where the elf outright just completely bites ojisan constantly since she thinks it’s a dream. Very hot chapter 10/10.
