Description / Comments
Protagonist reincarnates as a baby in an isekai where everybody can use magic, but he’s just a random farmer’s child. However he diligently practices magic every day by obeserving his parent’s simple usage of it so that one day he too can handle magic, and at a much higher level than anybody else. However until he reaches the age of 6 he won’t be able to actually perform any magic properly due to Reasons, except he manages to perform magic without chanting simply through manipulating the magic inside of and around him regardless. He then sets out and crossbreeds/farms plants constantly while training his magic, slowly improving/experimenting with the crops. However while he’s having fun experimenting with his crops, one day his dad has to go off and fight in a war, which sparks a desire for the protagonist to start preparing himself for the future and the rest of his life with the knowledge that he too might have to fight in a war some day.
All of the characters in this work are fairly interesting and the work progresses at a fairly nice pace. Protag very quickly builds up his power and city to an insane degree yet still kind of just wants to chillax and farm and be at peace even if his actions are kind of causing him to be the target of many. He even quickly gets an actual cute wife almost out of nowhere that is a bookworm and will support him in everything he does. The pyramid scheme magic system in this world is kind of funny as well.
I feel like the worst parts about this work is how the protag just keeps amassing a ton of people he needs with insane skills right as he needs them in a deus ex machina moment kind of thing. The battles are fairly simplistic and idealistic, a lot of the thoughts and aesthetics around nobility/prestige is kind of skewed, and a few of the relationships build up a little too quickly imo.
This work is like half city-building focus and half politics focus, with a few battles here and there to facilitate one or the other.
