Description / Comments

The protagonist enthusiastically plays an MMORPG that allows to players to submit their stories of what they accomplish in-game to the developers to make their events canon to the lore, as well as allow players to create kingdoms and conquer others for control over the land. The protagonist no-lifed the game to the extent that his character, whom he created to be an evil subordinate of the actual last boss, was always at the top of the player rankings, participated in every event, and once he created his kingdom he practically singlehandedly conquered the entire land causing the entire system to become defunct. He got together a few of the other top players and decided to split the land in two, and have one last battle deciding who would be on top, however the protagonist unforunately lost the duel. Then afterwards when logging out of the game, the Goddess that change’s your characters Job/class appeared on the login screen asking the protagonist if he wants a new Job; Upon accepting he’s whisked away into the game world as his Avatar, mistakenly summoned through a Hero summoning ritual when he is supposedly the evil last boss.

A fascinating work about the protagonist’s mind slowly merging with the character he hand crafted over years of lore building, interacting with tons of characters he knew but didn’t really know. With a goal of finding Her 12 zodiac-based tamed monsters who have been wreaking havoc on the world since her death, eventually figuring out how He got summoned into his character’s body, and maybe eventually defeat the real final boss that is terrorizing humanity.

The work starts to really hit its strides around ch10+, which at that point it starts delving very deep into the setting and the characters in a nice way. The art uses a fair bit of shortcuts including white void backgrounds and nothing but action lines at times to convery movement/backgrounds but the art is fairly good when the artist tries.

Would rec it if you want a cool battle shounen that is more focused on adventuring the world and discovering the mystery of why the protagonist is present, in an MMO setting. It has a great sense of comedy that really clicks with me, the battles are nice, the way the plot develops involving the protagonist and isekais in general is well done; I just really like it. Main issue with the work is that it adapts at either a very slow pace and sometimes even skips months; maybe the anime will be a better way to experience the work overall.
