Description / Comments

A world is ravaged by monsters but slowly they are randomly disappearing from the world, so one of the great mages tries to seek out why they’re disppearing to maybe figure out the long sought after interdimensional travel magic. Except after casting his spell his entire laboratory and surrounding area disappears around him but leaves him in place, only for a portal to that region opening up in some random location in Korea where our protagonist’s apartment is. The protagonist is a “Hunter” with terrible abilities barely scraping by on scraps in a world ruled by the elite hunter guilds, and finally given an opportunity to “level up” his skills with this otherworldly dungeon.

The art is fairly good but feels soulless. The chapters are medium length but have very little actual content in them, instead just filled with tons of filler battles that aren’t particularly interesting to read and just layered with “fancy effects” that don’t really enhance anything. The plot is incredibly trite with none of the characters making any sense, with a few obviously good guys and everybody else being comically evil. The protagonist is a cocky chode. The elf/dwarf almost immediately help him out and train him up like they’re NPCs.

It’s nice that the protagonist can just freely allow other people to go in and out of his portal, and the fact it’s a korean battle shounen without it being a “gate break” is novel enough, but at the same time it doesn’t really do it any good when the rest of it is garbage.

Quite honestly I don’t see any merit in reading this over anything else on this list and I don’t want to subject anybody else to reading it either. I don’t know who I would ever recommend this to.
