The protagonist dies and reincarnates as the evil stepmother in the story of cinderella, down on her luck after her husband fucked off and died who knows where after spending a majority of their money. She now has to pick up the pieces and turn her life around while trying to be nicer to cinderella and the two “evil” older sisters, and help them all find suitable suitors so they’re not stuck in the same situation she is; Maybe she’ll even find someone to take this 2x widow with three children despite being 37!!
The protagonist is crazy and will literally stab a dude no questions asked; she’s got hands.
It’s a pretty mature take on raising children as a single mom, even if a little too idealistic at times. Biggest blight is the existence of Bachelor Prince Charming who is coincidentally near her age, never been married, and is also head over heels for her on first sight, but still the perfect man in every way, and exists solely to be supportive of her and give her lots of gifts and be super handsome. It’s a wish fulfillment romance work in every way, but the other aspects of this work are more than enough to elevate the story in spite of that. It manages to handle (or at least handwave away) a lot of the issues that you’ll inevitably ponder about while reading the work, and is generally well paced with good writing throughout. The art is also well above average with tons of detailed backgrounds and a ton of effort put into the scene composition and character actions overall. Also there’s honestly a lot of plot points that stem on misunderstandings later on that are kind of aggravating that drag down the work a bit too.
