The protagonist finds himself waking up in the middle of the road as a hopelessly despicable side character of a novel that he read the night before who merely exists as a footnote to the her of the story, Javier’s, life: Lloyd Frontera, the delinquent son of the baron family that saved the hero Javier from destitution when he was younger and is currently in employment of. Originally Lloyd’s parents get scammed while his entire family ends up dead in short time, leading to Javier to head off on his journey in search of a new purpose in life. However now that the protagonist is in Lloyd’s body he works towards being a better person and actually aplogizing then working towards making his land a better place to live while useing his knowledge from his past life where he studied as a Civil Engineer to try and prevent his family falling into ruin through all of their substantial debt they were conned into taking on.

This work is almost entirely comedy with a little bit of battles and romance thrown in on the side, following the protagonist and his bro while they seek to make the world a better place in spite of the story’s original plotline. One of the major highlights of this work is the comedically exaggerated faces that the protagonist makes that are larger than life and can immediately tell you all you need to know about the situation without having to waste any time actually spelling it out; the artist/adapter really uses the medium of a webcomic to their full potential to tell the story. The webcomic even diverges fairly wildly from the original novel quite a fair bit while enhancing it with its own comedic elements while still following the major plotbeats of the novel.

The protagonist is definitely Evil in that everything he does is solely for his own benefit or greed, but he still tries to make everyone else’s lives better in the process of obtaining what he desires. This unique protagonist coupled with the story’s hero who is your traditional lawful good character make a nice contrasting pair that is a joy to read.

This work is largely standalone but also regularly references/homages a few other works that you can see the relations of on mangaupdates. It’s not necessary to read them before this work although if you enjoy this work maybe you’ll end up checking those works out regardless later on.
