Description / Comments

Protag got run over by a truck then reincarnated/isekai’d into a Magic Grimoire with the capabilities to turn just about anybody into the greatest mages of all time, but it’s rare for anybody to actually read him for whatever reason and it’s been 300 years since the last person he’s trained. However it just so happens that a random boy without magical talent stumbles across the grimoire in a library, yet this boy also has no interest in becoming a grand sage and wants to become a great knight instead. After arguing a bunch the boy leaves the grimoire to rot on the shelves once more, only for the grimoire to curse the boy to die an early death since he can’t make a contract with anybody else until his current contractor dies; and unfortunately the boy does almost immediately die afterwards. Yet just before the book is to be whisked off to yet another location, a random thief breaks into the library and somehow manages to read the grimoire just before he teleports away. His new contractor is an insane orphan who escaped from the thieves guild and just so happens to have some of the greatest mana on par with dragons, and the grimoire will now have to deal with trying to teach someone that is partially insane.

The work primarily follows the point of view of both the isekaijin reincarnted as a book, as well his current contractor who was raised as an orphan. Both of them are unhinged in various ways and work to support and build off of each other in a relatively equal way despite “Grimoire” being extremely old and in a student-teacher power dynamic. All of the characters in this work are great. I’m particularly fond of “Becky” since she’s presented to the reader in a ton of different ways that still remains consistent once you learn everything about her. The lich is also a major highlight of the work that lends a lot of comedic relief to the story.

The art is also good; it makes extensive use of 3D but it doesn’t look super out of place, and the character art is about as good as you can get in this format.
